So my truck was having some front end issues that were really pissing me off. The control arms were too short for the lift and the bushings sucked, there were a couple other worn parts, and the crappy Rancho shocks were annihilated from a couple trips to the dunes with a heavy engine, too short of bumpstops, and getting badly overheated and the extra dive and bouncing at highway speeds resulted in occasional death wobble. Unfortunately I discovered the issue with over 17k lbs and $70k cruising down the highway at 75mph, but I managed to hold it together for that (literally) near death experience. I tried a few of the normal repairs and none fixed it. So I took that as a reason for some upgrades.

I love going to the sand dunes and bombing around so figured it'd be nice to improve performance for that, but I did NOT want to worsen its performance for DD and towrig use, and didn't wanna spend much money either. I've loved the Ford Raptor since before it came out but between price and lack of towing ability I didn't go for it.....now I get the best of both worlds. Enter Project Raptor Killer.

Now for lots of pics as always.....

After the destroyed axle experience on Project Cumdumpster I realized that the AAM9.25 just isn't up for major abuse under the front of such a heavy truck....can't hurt to add some reinforcement now before it's too late.

It wouldn't be a BBA Fabworks project without the trucker chicks

I wanted some good shocks that'd handle the abuse they were gonna see without eating themselves again. Luckily since the Cumdumpster is now getting coilovers, the near new 12" travel Fox remote resi shocks were now available, and only cost me about what a pair of Bilstein 5100s(which are on national backorder) would've cost. Now it was just a matter of fitting the big basterds....
Lower mounts. Simple, effective, and clear everything

You can also see the new LCA brackets to eliminate the stupid cam bolt slots, and the 2" .25" wall adjustable LCAs, and 1.5" .25" wall adjustable UCAs I built with poly bushings all around.

Upper mounts. Not as simple, but effective, attractive, strong, and fit nicely

Gonna have to trim the wheelwell liners before reinstalling them, no big deal.

Plus with the axle in the correct location at ride height it moves forward enough to cause some interference issues at where I wanted full bump to be.....I've got 12" travel shocks, might as well make it have 12" of travel, right?
Interference of diff cover to panhard bar and bracket:

Clearanced and reinforced bracket now has good clearance:

I didn't wanna destroy the new shocks or mounts so time for some proper bumpstops:

And now some random pics I like:
Droop:

Right around ride height:

You can also see the limit strap mount hiding back there to keep the coils from unseating at full droop. Hopefully my PolyPerformance order shows up fast....

End product:

It rides and drives like a whole new truck now! I beat on it as much as I could on the roads around here(many of them dirt) at various speeds and it worked amazing. I'll put it to the test next weekend at the dunes for sure, hopefully with some decent videos and pics.
