actually, him and Possum are in a "race" to get their rigs driving (Possum blew the 351 and put a 460 in) and drive a circle around the other. Paul's runs, but is no where close to being "done." Possum just has to figure out how to drive a circle around Paul's rig (which is not very easy as it sits now) and he wins a bet they have going. Possum's rig is basically ready though...few small things to finish.

Welp, here are the pics from the carnage...

this is where the fun ended...

As you can see...the passenger side ripped completely off

Trying to figure out how to go about fixing it...

Once we got back with some more tools, we thought we'd try battery welding it into place.

Got it close to it original position

Tried welding with failure. Too much current...notice how the welding rod is bending cause it got so hot? Yeah...

Ended up removing it completely to fix it at the shop

I was pretty happy

Ended up welding it back together and bolting it back in. Luckily, I got it to fit back together perfectly so all I (hopefully) will have to do is add some metal to make it stronger and will be good to go. My plan is to add a layer of 3/16" on the bottom surface and bringing it up into the main section of rectangle, as well as adding a bit of metal to the top to strengthen up the weld joint there as well.

Well..got it "fixed" but not perma-fixed. I have the cross member out again, I just have to add some beef to it. I'll work on that tomorrow.
